A mixture made of two or more elements, at least one of which is a metal, is called an alloy.

Alloy is defined as a mixture of metallic phases or mixture of chemical elements in which one element must be a metal. For the formation of alloys two or more elements are mixed, on of which is essentially a metal. The other constituent in an alloy may or may not be metal.
