I would say that the sentence should read "You ought to take up tennis for the benefit of your health" so I think "benefit" would be the best word to choose for the intended meaning. Obviously, the fast running and swinging at the ball is good aerobic and muscular exercise for the arms and legs so the body is kept in good shape by this sports activity if done on a regular basis.
