Rosa Parks stands as a symbol for bravery. She knew that she would be arrested for refusing to give up her seat on the bus, and yet she did it anyways, knowing very well that she could be arrested for it. She is a symbol for many people who are being opressed to stand up for themselves and their rights, despite the consequences it might bring.
