How do species on the bottom of the ocean get energy to live

They get energy from alge and water-snow, water-snow is dead phytoplankton that there is so many it look like snow. Another way is fish at the top of the ocean have sunlight, sunlight gives energy. But being that sunlight doesn't reach the bottom there are types of coral that can go to 1000 degrees they get energy and warmth from the coral.
