Solve the equation:

a - 6 = 13

Opposite operation of subtraction: addition 

13 + 6 = 19

a = 19

CHECK:

19 - 6 = ? 
19 - 6 = 13

This tells us that a = 19 is CORRECT!

→ a - 6 = 13
