In terms of class, being born into the peasant family rather than serfdom allowed her greater freedom of time, since she will be held to lower standard. but living as a commoner rather than a noble woman or nun ensured a really low place in social hierarchy and tmake Ceicilia obligated to do whatver demanded by her 'social superior'.
