Why did King Henry leave the Roman Catholic church in 1584 how did this action make him more powerfull?

He left the Catholic Church because he was unable to divorce Catherine of Aragon. The Catholic Church wouldn’t let him marry Anne Boleyn whom he hoped would bear him a son. This made him more powerful because he didn’t have to abide by The Catholics laws and many people were beginning to question the ways of the Catholic so by making his own church many people converted to Protestantism.
