How does dispersal help different species?

Dispersal occurs because it is more beneficial to do so than to stay in the same location. Dispersal can help increase the range of species and allow them to exist where they haven't before. This can help increase population and spread the population out even more. Species can also disperse to decrease the competition for resources in their environment.
