Yes because even if WE couldn't hear it, the tree still makes a sound itself since its hitting the ground with its weight, it makes a dropping noise, animals could still hear it as well, but if nothing is around it, it still makes noise, its just the sound doesn't travel fast/big enough for us to hear it from long distance.
