move the 4 to the other side by subtracting 4 from 32 and you get
(3xn)=28
then divide 28 by 3
n=9.33 repeating
I think if it is ditributive property you would do it like this
(3•n)+4=32
You would multiply 3•4 and 4•n to get
12+4n=32
Subtract 12 from each
12+4n=32
-12 -12
12-12 cancels out and 32 minus 12 is 20 so now you have
4n=20
Divide 4 one wach sides
And....
N=5
