Patriots are the term used for the American colonists who battled
for independence from Great Britain throughout the revolutionary war. At that
time, George Washington was the chief radical leader who led the revolutionary soldiers
in the battle for liberation contrary to Great Britain. He also turned out to
be the First President of the United States.
