2x+3=7
2x=4
x=2
The answer is A) 2

The unknown number canbe replaced with x. So twice a number is 2x and in creased by 3 is +3. so the equation would be 2x + 3= 7  and the unknow number, or x, is 2.  2 times two is 4 plus 3 = 7
