Convert into improper fractions
1=9/9
9+4=13
13/9

3=9/3
9+1=10
10/3

To add fractions, we must find a common denominator.
3*3=9
9*1=9
13/9 *1/1 = 13/9
10/3 *3/3= 30/9
13+30=43
43/30
or 1 13/30
