y = 5x + 2...slope here is 5.
A parallel line will have the same slope

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 5
(1,-3)...x = 1 and y = -3
now sub and find b, the y int
-3 = 5(1) + b
-3 = 5 + b
-3 - 5 = b
-8 = b

so ur equation is : y = 5x - 8 <==
