Why can a potential organ donation not be transported in pure water?

because the organ has more salt than the liquid surrounding it, the pure water will want to move into the organ to balance out the differences in concentration of salt in the external and internal environments. Animal cells have no cell walls, so the sudden intake of water could cause the organ to lyse, or burst.
