slope formula : (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

set 1 : (2,-6)....so label these : x1 = 2 and y1 = -6
set 2 : (-3,1)...so label these : x2 = -3 and y2 = 1

now sub...but pay attention to ur signs, especially when some are neg.
slope = (1 - (-6) / (-3 - 2) = (1 + 6) / -5 = 7/-5 ..same as  - 7/5 <==
