What are the solutions to |2x + 8| = –14?

|2x+8| = -14 can be rewritten as 

(2x+8) = - 14      or     -(2x+8) = -14
2x = -22                      -2x-8 = -14
x = -11                         2x = 6
                                    x = 3
The solution set is {-11,3}.

This is impossible.. Absolute value cannot be a negative..

İf the is so: |2x+8|=14


Solution:

1--- 2x+8=14 

x=3


2--- 2x+8=-14

x=-11
