3/5 + 1/3

Multiply 3/5 by 3/3 so that both of the fractions could have the same denominator.

Multiply 1/3 by 5/5 so that both fractions could have the same denominator.

3/5 × 3/3 = 9/15

1/3 × 5/5 = 5/15

New question : 9/15 + 5/15

Since both fractions have the same denominator, all you have to do is add the numerators (top numbers) together.

Numerators : 9 + 5 = 14

So, our answer is 14/15
