Forward reaction is a reaction in which products are produced from reactants and it goes from left to right in a reversible reaction.

For example, if the focus is on respiration, the forward reaction is written as
C6H12O6 + 6O2 ---> 6CO2 + 6H2O

If the focus is on photosynthesis, the forward reaction is written as
6CO2 + 6H2O ---> C6H12O6 + 6O2
