Under Scout's ned, Jem and Scout find their friend Dill hiding under there. Apparently, Dill got a new dad, and he doesn't like him. So, due to his hatred of his new father, Dill runs away, all the way from Meridian to Maycomb County. Of course, his parents are notified but his mother lets him stay for the summer.
