Both economic beliefs are polar opposites. Capitalists believe that the government should not interfere with the economy and production and leave it as it is. Thats where the “Laissez-Faire” economics comes from. Communism on the other hand, is completely opposite. Communism is the belief that the government should be involved in the market and production of goods. This creates a split since there is no real middle ground for both ideals to co-exist in the same society.
