|4x + 12| = 16
As it is in modulus function, it could be either +ve or -ve
4x+12 = 16   OR   4x - 12 = 16
4x = 16-12    OR   4x = 16 + 12
4x = 4           OR   4x = 28
x = 4/4     OR  x = 28/4
x = 1  OR   x = 7

In short, Your Answer would be either 1 or 7
