so 16[tex]x^{0}[/tex]+2[tex]x^{2}[/tex][tex]y^{-1}[/tex]

= 16*[tex]2^{0}[/tex] + 2*[tex]2^{2}[/tex]*[tex]4^{-1}[/tex]

= 16 + (2*4)/4

=16 + 8/2

16 + 2

=18
