A Change in genetic code of an organism is called mutation.

Mutation is the process of any change in the nucleotide sequence of an organism, as a result of a failure of the system to revert the change. Thus, the altered sequences are  permanent and heritable.

There are  4 Types Of Mutations

Duplication.

Deletion.

Inversion.

Translocation.
