What's the difference between an axon and a dendrite

Dendrites are the fine branches from the cell body that receive incoming information from other neurons and transmit it to the cell body. 
Axons on the other hand transmit information from the cell body  to other neurons or to cells in glands and muscles. This would make a bit more sense if you take a look at a structure of the neuron.
