Difference, x - y = 3 ----- ( 2 )

( 1 ) + ( 2 ) => 2x = 14

                    x = 7

Substitute x = 7 in ( 2) => x - y = 3

                                      7 - y = 3

                                      7 - 3 = y

                                       y = 4

The numbers are 7 and 4.

Product of the numbers = 7 x 4 = 28
