x = 2

y = -8

Step-by-step explanation:

9x−2y=34 -------------------(I)

5x+2y=−6 -------------------(II)

Add equation (I) & (II) and so y will be eliminated and we could find the value of x.

(I)      9x -  2y = 34

(II)     5x  + 2y = -6   {add}

       14x         =   28

                 x = 28/14

x = 2

Plug in x = 2 in equation (I)

9*2 - 2y = 34

18 - 2y = 34

     -2y = 34 - 18

    -2y = 16

        y = 16/-2

        y = -8
