When setting goals, why is it important to set performance goals instead of outcome goals?

It is better to set performance goals because they can be measured and is easier for us to attain. Outcome goals are more difficult to attain because there are certain instances that we have no control of the situation. But this doesnt mean that outcome goals are not important. With the help of performance goals, outcome goals can be easily reached
