the social order as per the shang dynasty is as follows: the upper classes(the king and the aristocracy), the defence/military, the artisans and the craftsmen, and the slaves and peasants. and as you can imagine, the upper classes were the most respected, whereas the the slaves and peasants were looked upon as mere servants.
