An odd function is the negative function that results from the replacement of x with -x in the expression. An even function stays the same even after the substitution. An example of a neither even or odd function is f(x) = 2x3 – 3x2 – 4x + 4. when we substitute -x to x, the resulting is f(x) =–2x3 –3x2 + 4x + 4 which is not equal to the original or the negative counterpart.
