During the early years of the Jamestown settlement especially the Native Americas were major trading partners with the colonists. The colonists were provided with food and other materials like pottery by the Native Americans. At this time the colonists were not able to support themselves and relied on the Native Americans for food and other supplies to support their growing colony.
