Since in this problem, we are dealing with a balloon we can now say that the container or the shape we are dealing with is a sphere. The volume of a sphere is [tex]V = \frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3} [/tex] hence the volume is directly proportional to the radius. The volume increase by a factor of [tex] r^{3} [/tex]
