Saving your folders locally to your computer allows you access even without an internet connection. When you are constantly travelling, and use only one laptop, you may find this as the best course of action. However if you constantly change computers, you may find it easier to save it on the cloud. Also, if you only save your files locally, it can be lost if your computer breaks.
