Solve this quadratic equation by completing the square. x2 + 10x = 13

take 1/2 of 10
10/2=5
square it
5^2=25

add to both sides
x^2+10x+25=13+25
factor perfec squaer
(x+5)^2=38
sqrt both sides
x+5=+/-√38
minus 5
x=-5+√38 or -5-√38
