-1/2x = slope,  -2 = y-intercept

you need to single out the y so you subtract 3x from the left side and transfer it to the right side and it becomes -6y=-3x+12 and then divide -6 from the left side and divide it under all the numbers on the right. Now you have y=-1/2x - 2
