The menstrual cycle is regulated by two hormones secreted from the pituitary gland, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). FSH and LH control the production of estrogen and progesterone, hormones are produced in the ovaries that determine the different stages of the menstrual cycle
