Given y = A sin (Bx + C) + D

  • amplitude is | A |
  • period is [tex]\bold{\dfrac{2\pi}{\text{B}}}[/tex]
  • phase shift is [tex]{-\dfrac{\text{C}}{\text{B}}}[/tex]
  • vertical shift is D

A cos function is the same as a sin function.

A tan function has a period of π, so the period is [tex]\dfrac{\pi}{\text{B}}[/tex]
