Pythagoras was the inventor of musical intervals, found that the scales were composed by dividing the rope in the proportions 1: 2, 3: 2, 4: 3.

Pythagoras discovered that the intervals in music can not originate without the number since the intervals consist of the combination of one quantity with another. Thus, he examined the origin of everything harmonic and non-harmonic.
