Average Rate of Change is given by the Slope of the Function

We know that :

✿ [tex]\bold{Slope(m) = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}}[/tex]

The Given Points are : (3 , -10) and (5 , -26)

Here : x₁ = 3 and x₂ = 5 and y₁ = -10 and y₂ = -26

[tex]\bold{Slope(m) = \frac{-26 + 10}{5 - 3} = \frac{-16}{2} = -8}[/tex]
