A plateau is an area of land that is flat and is raised above the surface of adjoining land and often cut by deep canyons, and it can also mean to reach an area of no progress for example weight loss. Plateaus do not have peaks, they are flat from the top. A hill is smaller a than Mountain. It does have a peak.
