Pesticides are the chemicals used kill harmful pests. Organochlorine are synthetic pesticides widely used all over the world. It is highly toxic, degrades very slowly and undergoes bioaccumulation. Organochlorine have been banned in developed countries because these pesticides have been developed with the concept that these will used to kill the target pests, but non-target species are badly affected by the use of pesticides.
