There are infinitely many lines passing through (-1,-5), one for every possible value of the slope, [tex]m[/tex].

Using the point-slope formula

[tex] y-y_0=m(x-x_0) [/tex]

You have

[tex] y+5=m(x+1) \iff y = mx+m-5 [/tex]

So, once you choose a value for m, you have your specific line. Without specifying it, this is the best you can do: write down the pattern of all lines passing through the point, with a generic slope
