The y-intercept is the point where a line or curve intersects the y-axis; in other words, it's the point on the function where x = 0. If we want to find the y-intercept for the first function x + 4y = 8, we can replace x with 0 and solve for y:

0 + 4y = 8

4y = 8

y = 2

So, the y-intercept for the first function, and therefore the y-intercept for the second function, is (0, 2)
