x-2/3x= - 1/7 is equivalent to the equation above. Then you get 1/3x= - 1/7.
So, x = - 3/7

1/7+x=2/3x
x+1/7=2/3x
21x + 3 = 14x
21x       = 14x-3
21x-14x= -3
     7x    = -3
       x    = -3/7

Therefore, the value of x is -3/7
