Egeus wanted his daughter to marry Demetrius. Egeus' daughter's name was Hermia and Demetrius was not at all happy with her decision of marrying Lysander. He raised his complaint about this problem to the man named Theseus. This wanting to have a control over his daughter's wishes is quite severe for he even asked Theseus to impose death penalty on her should she not follow his wishes.
