14 + 12 + 18 = 5x + 3 + 3x + 5 + 3x +3
44 = 11x + 11
11x = 44 - 11
11x = 33
x = 33/11
x = 3

The triangles are proportional to each other.
Side AB = EF
14= 3x + 5
Side AC = ED
18 = 5x+ 3
Side BC = DF
12 = 3x + 3

If you solve those equations X would come out to be 3.
