[tex](3x^2+9x-6)-(2x^3-4x^2+6x-4)[/tex]

Now we'll distribute the minus sign and sort the terms by degree:

[tex]= -2x^3 + (3x^2 + 4x^2) + (9x-6x)+(-6 + 4)[/tex]

Now we add up the like terms and we're done.

[tex]= -2x^3 + 7x^2 + 3x -2[/tex]
