For this case we have the following system of equations:
 Equation A: [tex]2x + (1/4) y = 3[/tex]
 Equation B: [tex](2/3) x - y = 6[/tex]
 We multiply Equation B by -3 and obtain:
 [tex] -2x + 3y = -18 [/tex]
 Adding both equations we have:
 [tex] (1/4) y + 3y = 3 - 18 [/tex]
 From here, we obtain the value of y.
 Answer:
