The parallel lines have the same slope. So, if a line is parallel to the line 4x + 2y = 14, we should determine the slope of the line 4x + 2y = 14
m = -coefficient of x / coefficient of y
m = -4/2
m = -2
The slope is -2

Use this following formula to determine the equation
y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

plug in the numbers with m = -2 and (x₁,y₁) = (2,2)
y - 2 = -2(x - 2)
y - 2 = -2x + 4
y = -2x + 4 + 2
y = -2x + 6
This is the equation of the line
