Use the Pythagorean theorem:
[tex]c^2=a^2+b^2[/tex]
We have:
[tex]a=3;\ b=5[/tex]
Substitute:
[tex]c^2=3^2+5^2\\\\c^2=9+25\\\\c^2=34\to c=\sqrt{34}\approx5.83[/tex]

Hey there! :)

You have to use the Pythagorean Theorem: a² + b² = c²

a = 3
3² = 3 × 3 = 9

b = 5
5² = 5 × 5 = 25

25 + 9 = 34

√34 = 5.8

c = 5.8

Hope this helps :)
